Bourtree Jams and Preserves was established in 2018 by Jackie Macintyre in her kitchen in Alyth, Perthshire.
Jackie is an artisan producer of homemade marmalades, jams, jellies and chutneys, using traditional open pan methods in small batches. Only the best premium fruits and vegetables are used - sourced from local fruit farms and market gardens.
Jackie was taking a breather after leaving the family business she had worked in for most of her working life. She began making jams and marmalades for fun, giving the finished products as gifts to family and friends. But from the very first batch she was hooked and started trialling new recipes and styles. After a few months she began selling her products through an honesty box on her doorstep and at local markets, which is when Bourtree Jams & Preserves was established.
Two years on and Bourtree Jams has become a staple in local farm shops and homes across Perthshire and beyond. Bourtree Jams has received a number of awards, most recently winning two golds at the 2020 World Marmalade Awards.
No gelling agents, colourings or added pectin are used in any Bourtree Jams or marmalades making them suitable for a vegetarian and Vegan diet.
